IDOP 2022

Pray with the Persecuted Church

Every year, Open Doors invites Christians around the world in a day of prayer to stand alongside our brothers and sisters who are suffering persecution because of their faith. Our prayers are powerful, our prayers are steadfast, our unity shows our brothers and sisters they are not alone.

Stand in prayer with your persecuted brothers and sisters this International Day of Prayer With The Persecuted Church in November 2022.

History of Open Doors

The global network now known as Open Doors has its origins in one man and one journey. In 1955, a young Dutchman went to Warsaw and discovered the existence of a church that was oppressed, isolated and apparently forgotten.

He became known as Brother Andrew. And from 1955 to 1967 he travelled throughout Eastern Europe, delivering Bibles, encouraging those he met, and recruiting others to help him.

In the six decades since Brother Andrew’s first journey, Open Doors has continued to seek out and strengthen those who suffer violent persecution and discrimination for their Christian faith.

As growing numbers of Christians are targeted for their faith, today, more than ever, they need to be heard, understood and supported on their journey.

Our aim is to encourage and raise up people in every nation to pray, support and speak up for Christians around the world who suffer for their faith.

One Million Prayers of Hope

Join in raising one million prayers of hope for Christians in the Middle East. Our brothers and sisters in Syria and Iraq have faced a decade of war with extremists. Now they face economic collapse, persecution and discrimination.

Let us stand with them to make hope last. Add your light to the map to show where you are praying from, so that Christians all over the world can see we are uniting in prayer.
